Fake Headteacher: Secret Files No.6 – Finding time

Dear Staff,
Once again, a secret recording / transcript, between myself and a staff member, has been leaked. Please ignore it.
FHT

FHT: Can you explain why your medium and short term planning wasn’t uploaded to the server this week?

Teacher: Sorry, I am bit behind. This week I have been updating all of my working walls you insist I do.

FHT: But the week before that I noticed you hadn’t deep marked enough.

Teacher: Oh, that was because I was preparing for your two hour pupil progress meeting.

FHT: But what about the week before that? You failed to attend any of the discos and other PTA events.

Teacher. Sorry. I was collecting evidence (and making some up) so you can be awarded the Diamond Kite Mark for ‘We are a Happy School’ to put on your newsletters.

FHT: But that doesn’t excuse the fact that you didn’t type up, print and stick learning objective slips in all books for every lesson in the week before that.

Teacher: Oh, that was because I was mentoring an average student who was failing. I had to attend lots of other meetings.

FHT: But you were behind updating our expensive on-line tracking program the week before that.

Teacher: Oh, that was because I was writing up my medium and short term plans that week.

FHT: But what about your working walls the week before that? They looked a bit out of date?

Teacher: I am so sorry about that. It was just I was deep marking that week. Book scrutiny was coming up.

FHT: But that doesn’t excuse the fact you hadn’t prepared for the pupil progress meeting the week before that.

Teacher: That’s because I was attending discos and other PTA events that week.

FHT: But what about all of the evidence I had asked for the week before, so we can be awarded the Diamond Kite Mark for ‘We are a Happy School’ so I can put them on our newsletters?

Teacher: Again, I am very sorry but that week I was concentrating on typing up learning objective slips for every lesson for every day.

FHT: But the week before that, you had failed to support the student properly.

Teacher: I know. I feel really bad but I was updating the hundreds of objectives on our expensive on-line tracking program that I know you love to look at.
